So I'm open to options. Any suggestions on a creative cereal character for this painting?
Also, due to my painters-block, I wanted to share with you all some of my peers in the art-world and their inspiring paintings.
John Lytle Wilson is one of my favorites. All of his "corrected paintings" contain mostly monkeys, unicorns, or robots - the usual. I'm friends with him on Facebook and it's so much fun to see what he produces out of that wacky head of his.
Corrected Paintings
The first time I ever saw this style of art (ie. corrected paintings, thrift store art, thrift store redux) was at the Wurst Gallery. In 2005 they hosted the Vintage Vandals art display. It's so inspiring to see what all of these unique artists concocted.

While rummaging around online, I stumbled upon these other great artists who have been featured on popular blogs.

Maybe seeing what others have done will help inspire some creativity.
ok - here's my idea....
ReplyDeleteuse the Cookie Crisp crook and he can be in a getaway boat filled with cookie crisp and the cop guy can be chasing him in his own boat.
There are a few cookie crisp characters -- the newest one is a wolf I think. But if you google image cookie crisp there are different ones -- I'm thinking of the guys that have little burglar masks on -- it's a guy and a dog. And then there is a little blue cop guy that goes with them.
that's all i got. :)
Oooo - I like April's idea.
ReplyDeleteThere is always Snap, Crackle, and Pop or Tony the Tiger or the guy from Lucky Charms. I have no idea how you would put them in the picture.
What about all the knock of cereal characters. Like that super sugar cereal has the bear. Idk, I immediately think Tony the Tiger, bc his cereal is BOMB :-p You could put Mr. Quaker in there on top of the mountain lol
ReplyDeletei have another idea -- you could make the mountain look like Mt. Rushmore - but instead of Pres. faces you could do Snap, Crackle and Pop. - or whoever you want...
ReplyDelete**can you tell I have too much time on my hands ;)
I am thinking something to do with Captain Crunch.
ReplyDeleteTrix rabbit could be climbing the mountain or the lucky charm leprechan could be fishing for lucky charms floatin in the water. If you wanted to put cereal on hold, consider Mr. Bubbles in the water or Kool-Aid blasting thru the center of the painting.
ReplyDeleteFrankenberry. Everyone always forgets him...
